Recap of Our New Headquarters’ Grand Opening

Yes, we’re open!

There are days in a founder’s life when all the hard work of the last few years materializes. Last Thursday was one of those days for me. A day when you finally realize: We made it happen!

What am I talking about? The opening of our new headquarters in Düsseldorf. From now on, it’s the new home for us at water IT Security. But at the same time, it’s so much more:

It’s a place where our brand comes to life. It’s a space to experience the vision we started with three years ago. And it’s a hub for collaboration, creativity, and growth.

A warm welcome

In that spirit, we opened the doors to a new chapter in our journey. And so many came: clients, partners, friends, and family. From the moment the first guests arrived, the energy was incredible. Seeing so many familiar faces in our brand-new space was honestly a moment I will cherish for a long time.

On the agenda

Remember when I spoke about our new headquarters as a hub for collaboration, creativity, and growth? Our opening day was just that – thanks to the keynotes, discussions, and networking that took place throughout the day. Ready for some highlights? We had Mark Ojomu from XM Cyber talking about their innovative approach to exposure management. We had Oliver Sahlmann from Microsoft Germany showing us ways to improve resilience with data security. I myself was on stage with our customer Michael Schöller from Schmitz Cargobull to talk about their implementation of our new product ARC for IT disaster management. And we took a brief trip into the world of branding and marketing when Kerstin Alexander from agency Feuerland and our own marketing manager Mojan Akhlaghi explained why water is called water and what Bruce Lee had to do with it.

Building connections

All of this showed me how deep the connections with our customers and partners have grown since we started water. It was inspiring to see how engaged everyone was, sharing their own experiences and insights. With water lab, we want to deepen these connections even more in the future. Stay tuned for what we have in store for you!

Then came the evening. Drinks, great food, and so many conversations that reminded me why we do what we do. Watching everyone relax, connect, and celebrate together made me realize how strong this community is.

A milestone worth celebrating

To wrap it up: The opening of this headquarters is a huge milestone for us at water. It’s a symbol of how far we’ve come, but more importantly, what’s still ahead of us. At the risk of repeating myself: With our new office, we want to create an open space for sharing ideas with everyone who cares about IT security. And I hope that many of you will join us here in the coming days, months, and years.

Last but not least, I want to thank all the wonderful people who made this unforgettable opening a reality. And I want to thank the entire water team. I’m proud of you and grateful for everyone who has been a part of our journey.

By the way: If you didn’t make it this time, don’t worry. Our doors are always open.
